Giant ice sculpture of Piers Morgan appears in Trafalgar Square

By Caroline King - August 12, 2022Posted in : Exhibition, Food & Drink

A giant ice sculpture of Piers Morgan has been erected in Trafalgar Square. Why you may ask? Well, Piers has a history of complaining about and deriding plant-based food. So, plant-based meat mavericks THIS™, couldn’t think of a better way to mark the launch of their frozen range.

It’s with a heavy dose of satire, that they’ve created this 7tf-tall Piers ice sculpture. And it’s already attracting large crowds in this busy London location. But if you’re hoping to see it – and it may not be pretty as Piers is portrayed naked – you’ll need to hurry as it’ll be melting fast in this heat!

Piers is well-known for many of the wrong reasons but his anti-veganism is one that he continuously mocks on his TV slots (if anyone actually watches) and on Twitter. For example, he famously spat his Greggs’ vegan sausage roll into a bin while live on TV. And that’s why Andy Shovel, Co-Founder of THIS™, says; ‘We wanted to include this special man in the launch celebrations of our frozen food range. He is the man who thinks and talks about vegan food even more than we do. We know how excited he’ll be to try these.’

The demand for plant-based food continues to sky-rocket. Research from the brand shows that 46% of Brits are wanting to eat more plant-based food. But how many people want to see a naked ice sculpture of Piers is less certain!
