Players tee off at the World Crazy Golf Championships

By Caroline King - June 10, 2022Posted in : Alternative Sport

This weekend, sporting fans are vying for glory as a championship with a difference tees off on the seafront in Hastings.

The World Crazy Golf Championships is a quirky annual event that takes place at the local Adventure Golf course. It sees players from the UK and the rest of Europe compete for a cash prize. And this year, there’s a total of £5,500 in prizes up for grabs.

The main competition is taking place over the Saturday and Sunday, with prizes for professional and novice players. There’s a special trophy for the most hole-in-ones and a junior event gives budding youngsters a crack at the course too. The crazy golf course has a series of ramps, bends, windmills and watermills that players must negotiate to claim their prize.

The Hastings seaside attraction doesn’t just have a crazy golf course though. So, if you’re not taking part in the championships this weekend, you can still try your hand at the pirate and adventure themed courses instead. Who knows, you may find you’re a natural and decide to enter the championships next year!
