Venture out with your family to enjoy nature in a new way with eight creative boxes in Harpford Woods near Sidmouth.
These new wooden Creative Nature Boxes are installed in the woods and are designed to encourage you to connect with the nature around you. Each box contains a different creative prompt to get you thinking.
There are calming activities like forest bathing (shinrin-yoku) and meditation. Plus, contemplative suggestions such as writing a Haiku poem and ‘thoughts for the future’. And of course there are child-friendly activities like making a nature bracelet and ways to make a linear walking map.
The idea for the Creative Nature Boxes came after a successful pilot project, Art on the East Devon Way by Thelma Hulbert Gallery (THG), East Devon AONB and Clinton Devon Estates. Now, this new project builds on the idea, with the local community, Double Elephant Print Workshop and East Devon AONB Partnership helping to add new activities to the boxes.
