The bright and quirky Art Car Boot Fair will return this weekend. It’s completely online, meaning you can enjoy all the eccentric fun of the fair, no matter where you are.
The Art Car Boot Fair’s Flora & Fauna edition promises all the usual exuberant fun, with a special focus on the natural world. And what could be better for a spring event? As we leave the harsh weather and lockdown conditions of winter, to brighter days with new life unfolding.
Artists at the spring Flora and Fauna event
For this latest Art Car Boot Fair you can expect an abundant celebration of the natural world through the eyes, brushstrokes, hands, lenses and visions of a dewdrop-bright line-up of invited artists. Expect a profusion of works from emerging shoots and re-sprouting hardy perennials. There’ll be floral delights, curious creatures, nature made strange and even some dark spirits lurking in the bushes!
So, who’s at the 2021 spring event? Well, there’ll be quite a few ACBF favourites including Polly Morgan, Pam Hogg, Marcus Harvey, Rankin, and Pure Evil. Not to mention Kristjana S Williams, Sara Pope, Anne Ryan, Geraldine Swayne, Jeremy Deller, Heath Kane, Charming Baker and Mat Collishaw.
They will be joined by a host of exciting new participants, including Miranda Boulton, The Masons, Matthew Collings, Aaron Bevan Bailey and Ben Eine. Along with Stanley Donwood, Mekia Machine and the Hospital Rooms – featuring Mark Titchner, Richard Wentworth, Sonia Boyce and more.
What’s on at the latest Art Car Boot Fair
You can expect a festival-style atmosphere at the Art Car Boot Fair. And this will be channelled through a Programme of the Day, curated to feature engaging and spirited artist-led adventures and experiences. Be sure to check out the Critic’s Choice selection from Louisa Buck and Nancy Dewe Mathews too.
You can join in with a life-drawing class like no other, with Robert George Sanders and London Drawing. Or tune in to a fascinating discussion on diversity and inclusion in photography, by stellar photo duo The Masons. And watch a masterclass in painting from rising star Aaron Bevan Bailey.
There’ll be a special reading from famed gardener and photographer Isabel Bannerman’s forthcoming book, The Star Nosed Mole. And a fascinating short film on the making of Sara Pope’s first digitised artwork. You can also flex your own twitchy fingers at a special version of Euan Roberts’ fantastically popular kids’ lockdown drawing class – all adults are welcome!
The Art Car Boot Fair event website has been designed to handle thousands of eager art buyers, the second it opens for business. So, no need to worry about missing out! All the artworks and wares at the fair are produced exclusively for the event, so you could get your hands on something really unique and special.
Each artist will have their own virtual pitch, featuring all of their available artworks as well as specially created content. There will be live links direct to artists’ studios, countdowns, waiting rooms, art drops, exclusive editions, lots of originals and a myriad of ways for you to get involved. The ACBF Shop will also launch over the weekend with an eclectic selection of artworks and a new range of products.
