This month, UK audiences can enjoy a streamed performance of Overflow, a heart-wrenching show played out in a club toilet.
Overflow was playing live at London’s Bush Theatre until government restrictions meant the theatre had to close. But, as they say, the show must go on! Now the production has switched to streaming services, so audiences can still see the show, which has been gathering glowing reviews.
Overflow, a bathroom sink drama
Cornered into a flooding toilet cubicle and determined not to be rescued again, Rosie distracts herself with memories of bathroom encounters, drunken heart-to-hearts by dirty sinks, friendships forged in front of crowded mirrors, and hiding from trouble.
But with her panic rising and no help on its way, can she keep her head above water?
Travis Alabanza’s monologue Overflow is performed by transgender actress Reece Lyons and directed by Debbie Hannan. Each online performance is a pre-filmed live show and will begin promptly at 2pm or 8pm. The performance will only be available to watch for the duration of the stream.
