This December, the Old Royal Naval College will be helping visitors get into the Christmas spirit with pop-up festive theatre, live-streamed carols and a local makers craft market.
As lockdown comes to an end, Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich will be welcoming back visitors in person (and online) with a host of seasonal family events.
There’ll be pop-up festive theatre performances for children in the beautiful riverside grounds, and an arts and crafts market so you can shop local for presents this Christmas.
The crafts and arts market will run from 11th to 13th and 18th to 20th December (11am to 3pm), with stalls from local makers. There’ll also be food and drink stalls, so you can browse the market with a glass of mulled wine.
There’ll be a Christmas tree in Upper Grand Square and the beautiful Wren architecture will be illuminated with colourful lights and projections.
On set days in December you’ll also be able to enjoy Late access to the Painted Hall, and tickets will include a delicious warming winter meal and a free Christmas present.
During December, you can enjoy a Christmas sing-a-long by watching one of the live-streamed carol services on 1st and 4th December. Or celebrate the festive season and end of lockdown in person on 13th and 14th December as carol services take place in the Chapel of St Peter and St Paul.
Then, on 16th December, new choral app Koor will present a classical music concert in the Painted Hall. Their professional vocal ensemble Koor Voices and orchestra Koor Players will perform Beethoven.
