Art to light up the dark in Leeds

By Caroline King - October 15, 2020Posted in : Exhibition

This year, Light Night Leeds will be taking a different approach to lighting up the city sky.

The highlight of Light Night 2020 will be the unique, interactive Laser Light City, created by award-winning artist Seb Lee-Delisle.

For the event, lasers will be beaming out from seven of Leeds’ landmark buildings, including the Platform Building, Wellington Place, Bridgewater Place, and The Majestic. But that’s not all. You will be able to control these lasers from your smartphone or computer. Change the position and colour of the lasers, and be part of the show!

Even though many of us our confined to our homes, the lasers will be viewable from people’s balconies, windows and gardens for quite some distance. And for those with no clear view, the display will be available to watch online.

In addition to the Laser Light City, there will be the chance to take a look at the Spirit Owl and I Miss You installations in the city. Whilst online there will be a special light show created by local families, and the chance to look ahead to next year’s event.

For more light shows and installations, try these.
