This Halloween, don’t let the kids have all the fun. Edinburgh’s Surgeons’ Hall Museums will be hosting some bloody and gut wrenching events, perfect for adults.
On Saturday 31st October, join a small walking tour through Edinburgh’s Old Town. With the help of a knowledgeable guide, you will discover the history (warts and all) of the city’s medical achievements and deceitful practices.
Beginning at the museum, learn about disease, dissection and curious methods of treatment, in this 75 minute Blood and Guts tour. The event includes museum entry on the day.
If you can’t make it for the tour, then head online for an alternative Halloween workshop for adults. The Bloody History of Surgery: Online Workshop for Adults will give you the opportunity to get hands on with a little bit of kitchen science. Just make sure you have a red cabbage to hand!
Join Surgeons’ Hall Museums Learning Officer, Carl Ronan, to discover the bloody history of surgery, looking at procedures such as amputation without pain relief (ouch)!
If you’re looking for more Halloween events, for adults or families, try these.
