The Creative Cabin, an innovative travelling creative space, will be taking nature and culture on tour in Devon this autumn.
The aim of the Creative Cabin is to provide a fun, creative and safe space to explore art, culture and nature. The tour will start from Exmouth on Saturday 29th August and continue to travel around the area throughout autumn.
If you fancy heading along, you can expect a broad range of art activities, projects, talks, performances and workshops; supporting health and well-being, as well as responding to the local environment.
As well as individuals and families, the cabin will also bring activities to groups most in need, including schools, Memory Cafés, Devon Recovery Learning Community, Devon Young Carers, Refugee Support Groups, Devon Insight, and Headlight (an Action East Devon service for young people encountering mental health issues).
The quirky travelling cabin is being brought to Devon communities by Thelma Hulbert Gallery (THG) and Wild East Devon; drawing together the skills and knowledge of East Devon District Council’s culture and countryside teams to develop activities for both urban and isolated rural communities.
The Creative Cabin is an outcome of THG’s Culture + Climate 2020 programme, which sought to question our complicated relationship with nature and help identify new ways to coexist.
