This autumn, visitors to the seaside town of Bournemouth will be able to enjoy an eclectic programme of arts and cultural events as the annual Arts by the Sea festival takes place.
This year’s festival may be happening in a revised COVID-friendly format, with a limited capacity on live events, but that doesn’t mean there will be limited chances to take part. To keep the festival as accessible as possible, many of the events and activities at this year’s event will be available online.
There will be outdoor installations across Bournemouth Gardens and local beaches, from Friday 25th September to Sunday 4th October, as well as online workshops and live streaming events.
Festival visitors will be able to experience walk-through exhibits and outdoor installations, with timed entry slots to ensure social distancing. Tickets are free but will need to be booked in advance for the events as there is a limited capacity. Don’t worry if you can’t get a ticket, as the festival will be digitally broadcasting events for you to join in from the safety of your home.
Arts by the Sea will be running an assortment of online activities, from live streaming music featuring local bands, to creative workshops you can take part in. There will also be the opportunity to revisit some of the quirky street theatre performances from Arts by the Sea archives as it celebrates 10 years of bringing arts and culture to the south coast of England.
Sound interesting? Then keep an eye out for the full event and booking information, which will be announced on Monday 17th August.
Please note: all events will be subject to government guidance at the time.
