The art and future of fungi explored in mushroom exhibition

Over the next few months, Somerset House in London will be inviting visitors to explore the fascinating world of mushrooms.

The Art, Design and Future of Fungi exhibition at Somerset House

Mushrooms: The Art, Design and Future of Fungi will celebrate this remarkable organism through a programme of events including an exhibition, talks, screenings, tours and a pop-up dining experience.

Artworks featured in the exhibition will include a solar-powered Mushroom Suitcase, a decomposable mushroom burial suit, and a large-scale mushroom-based floral installation using mushrooms grown at Somerset House.

Events taking place during the exhibition will include TABLE, a special mushroom inspired dining pop-up on Friday 28th February, with a fungi-filled feast and exhibition tour; and The Magic of Mushrooms: Psilocybin and Altered States, an evening exploring the mind-altering properties of mushrooms, on Thursday 5th March.

When: 31st January – 26th April 2020
Where: Somerset House, Strand, London WC2R 1LA
£: Free admission to exhibition. Ticket prices vary for special events.
