Forget pumpkin carving for Halloween, on the Isle of Man they do things a little differently, and turnips are the main ingredient!

Hop Tu Naa - Isle of Man

Hop Tu Naa celebrates the beginning of the Celtic new year and the start of winter. This year, there will be a range of quirky events to celebrate, from family-friendly events and traditional activities to a visit to a witch’s lair.

Hop Tu Naa celebrations include turnip lantern carving, unique folk traditions and superstitions, seasonal cookery demonstrations, a local food and drink market, and music and dancing.

Alternatively, head to the Guts Grave and meet Jinny the Witch, or take the Hop Tu Naa Murder Mystery Train!

When: 26th October – 3rd November 2019
Where: At locations across the Isle of Man, including Douglas and Cregneash Village, Port St Mary
£: Prices vary, depending on the event/activity
