Celebrate the autumn with a free apple themed event in Devon, featuring toffee apples, apple puppets, harvest themed face painting and a pop up bar.
Celebrate Harvest time this Saturday (5th October) at the Thelma Hulbert Gallery (THG) as they host a free Apple Day event.
Visitors will be able to press apples and make their own apple juice, try green woodworking with The Bodgers, and toast mini toffee apples. There will also be the opportunity to climb inside Gail McGarva’s magical Storyboat, make an apple puppet and get decorated with some Harvest-themed face painting.
Visitors can also enjoy the THG autumnal gallery garden with live music and a pop-up bar.
Apple Day is part of the programme of events accompanying new exhibition, Well Trodden Wrong Ways (on until 26th October), showing commissioned work by two South West artists, Jo Lathwood and Paul Blakemore. The exhibition explores the Jurassic Coast through drawings, films and sculpture.
Visitors can have a go at de-coding Lathwood’s detailed coastal drawings and join in a coded garden treasure hunt (with prizes, hurrah).
