There’ll be projections, singalongs, street theatre and workshops at a film festival in Dartmoor this week.
Chagford Film Festival, now in its 9th year, will run from Monday 23rd to Saturday 28th September. This year’s highlights will include a day of Spanish language films, discussed and analysed by Exeter University Dept of Film & Hispanic Studies; a day of music based films, from classical to country; and a finale with street theatre leading into Rocketman, introduced by Chris Dickens the Oscar winning editor.
Many of the film screenings and workshops will be introduced by industry experts who were involved in their making.
This year’s quirky festival highlights will include an outdoor projection, lighting up the town square, singalongs of Calamity Jane and Oklahoma!, a comic art masterclass, An Intro to Anime with Emily Fussell, and street theatre from the Flaming Feathers.
The eclectic programme of film screenings will include Oscar-winning The Favourite, Wild Rose, The Smallest Show on Earth, Estiu 1993 (Summer 1993), The Camino Voyage.
