This weekend, head to Liverpool to watch a new champion crowned at a town crier contest.
Join Terry Stubbings, Liverpool’s first town crier since 1796, and a whole host of criers from up and down the country as the Museum of Liverpool seeks to crown a new champion.
Stubbings has been Liverpool’s official town crier since 2011 and has many years experience as a ‘crier’.
Visitors should expect the event to be pretty noisy! The free event is part of the National Museums Liverpool’s summer series of events, which also includes freedom fighter badge making at the International Slavery Museum and customs contraband at the Merseyside Maritime Museum.
When: 31st August 2019, 11am
Where: Museum of Liverpool, Pier Head, Liverpool Waterfront
£: A free drop in event, no booking required.
