Fancy hats and an etiquette ball at Llandrindod Wells festival

By Caroline King - August 15, 2019Posted in : Classes & Workshops, Dance, Festival, Food & Drink, Heritage, Music, Theatre

This month, why not step back in time to the 1800s with the Victorian Festival in Llandrindod Wells?

Llandrindod Wells Victorian Festival
Join the Suffragettes at the Victorian Festival

This will be the town’s 38th Victorian Festival, featuring an eclectic programme of events during the day and evening, including parades, competitions, workshops, demonstrations, music, theatre and dance.

Quirky highlights of the festival will include an historic cycle cavalcade, a costumed tea dance, a suffragette demonstration and a Victorian Etiquette Ball. Before the ball guests can take a dance workshop in readiness for the event.

This year’s events will also include daily promenades, a night of Gothic horror at the Albert Hall Theatre, a Back to School evening with themed buffet, a talk on the Heroes and Villains of the Wild West, and a Victorian Village Fete with traditional stalls and games.

There will also be competitions including best parasol, best dressed Victorian hat, and best dressed streampunk couple, as well as a Grand Victorian Afternoon Picnic on the gardens. The event will finish with a torchlight procession and fireworks display.

When: 19th – 25th August 2019
Where: Llandrindod Wells, Wales
£: Ticket prices vary, depending on the event. Many events are free
