Man vs Lakes is a marathon challenge with a difference, taking in Morecambe Bay’s notorious sands and some of the Lake District’s most iconic lakes and surrounding countryside.
The 28 mile adventure race begins with the crossing of Morecambe Bay sands, where participants will follow a waymarked route across, negotiating two river channels, mud, shingle and marsh grass as well as the sand. The race will also take in a floating assault course on Lake Windermere and some kayaking on Lake Coniston, before competitors hit the finish line.
The challenge will include some much-needed pit stops along the way where snacks and water can be found, and after the race has finished there will be the chance to enjoy a pint or three at the Coniston event village bar.
Rat Race has been running the Man vs Lakes challenge since 2016, with around 1,000 people taking part each year.
Other Rat Race challenges taking place this year will include Snowdonia’s Man vs Mountain event, the Rat Race Adventure Challenge in the Brecon Beacons and the Survival of the Fittest 10km obstacle race.
