Head to the seaside in Morecambe for a free, family-friendly, weekend of kite flying activities.
This year’s Catch the Wind Kite Festival will take place on The Promenade and at The Platform in Morecambe, with kites of all shapes and sizes flown by professional kites flyers, as well as live entertainment. Visitors are also encouraged to bring along their own kites to fly.
In addition to the kite flying, the weekend will feature live music, arts and crafts, street entertainment, stalls and children’s activities.
This year, the live entertainment will include Bollywood dance performances, choirs, a Pop-up Ceilidh, Fairly Famous Family’s Life Guards and Thingumajig’s Flying Dodos. There will also be music from the Soundavan, a portable, self-sufficient, DJ booth made from a converted 1980s caravan; and the chance to watch a random show in The Imaginarium.
On stage there will be music from acts including Rachael Dadd, the Pancake Steel Band, Bollywood Fusion Violinists, and the Baybeat & Honk Streetband.
When: 29th & 30th June 2019, 12pm – 5pm
