Broadstairs Dickens Festival is an eclectic mix of live music, talks, competitions, theatre and special events. This year’s quirky highlights will include Militant Maids on the Promenade and Victorian street musicians.

Visitors will be able to meet the 79th Cameron Highlanders, take coffee with some costumed characters, join Mr Bumble’s Tea Party and even play some Dickensian mini golf.

Special events on the Friday will include gin tasting at the Loungers Bar, Dickens and Travel with Lucinda Hawksley at the Dickens House Museum, and open top bus tours.

Saturday will feature Up Before the Beak, a light-hearted look at the law during Dickensian times, a grand parade, and a walk around Broadstairs looking at some of Dickens’ haunts.
