Play with paper and board the story boat at garden party

By Caroline King - May 21, 2019Posted in : Art, Exhibition, Food & Drink

Head to the beautiful Grade II listed Thelma Hulbert Gallery and its leafy garden in Honiton this bank holiday weekend, for their annual artsy garden party.

THG Garden Party 2019, Devon
Head to the gallery for a garden party with art, music and stories

The event will mark the opening of THG’s new interactive exhibition Paper Play and launch the In Honiton week of local events. This year’s garden party will include artist performances, live music and family art activities.

The gallery will welcome artist and boatmaker Gail McGarva, who will moor her Story Boat in the garden. Children will be able to climb inside this magical boat to hear stories and make artworks.

Visitors will also be able to browse the new exhibition, Paper Play, and enjoy an artist performance by Sophia Clist. Guests will also be encouraged to drop into the Paper Play Lab upstairs, and relax amongst the bean bags and experiment with creating paper artworks.

There will be local food on offer including wood-fired pizzas and gourmet burgers, as well as a bar.

When: 25th May 2019, 5pm – 8pm
Where: Thelma Hulbert Gallery, Elmfield House, Dowell Street, Honiton, Devon EX14 1LX
£: Free admission to the Garden Party and gallery (donations welcome)
