Like going to the theatre? Enjoy watching dance performances? Love live music? How about combining all three, for a show that is part-gig, part-dance and part-theatre?
This month, HOME in Manchester will be welcoming back the Hofesh Shechter Company for a second run of Grand Finale.
Grand Finale is a bold and ambitious piece, featuring ten dancers and live music played on stage by six classical musicians.
Grand Finale is at once comic, bleak and beautiful, evoking a world at odds with itself, full of anarchic energy and violent comedy. Shechter creates a vision of a world in freefall, part-gig, part-dance, part-theatre, and wholly original.
The production received its world premiere at La Villette in Paris in June 2017, prior to a critically acclaimed UK premiere in September at Sadler’s Wells, London. It has since enjoyed an extensive international tour to leading venues and festivals in the UK and around the world.
The company’s ensemble of dancers come from eight different countries, and include Chien-Ming Chang, Frederic Despierre, Rachel Fallon, Mickael Frappat, Yeji Kim, Kim Kohlmann, Erion Kruja, Merel Lammers, Attila Ronai, and Diogo Sousa.
