Join Settle Stories as they celebrate World Storytelling Day with tales from around the globe.

Settle Stories - World Storytelling Day
Settle Stories celebrate World Storytelling Day

World Storytelling Day is celebrated internationally, and this year arts charity Settle Stories will be live streaming seven storytellers from across the globe. Audiences can join them live at The Joinery or experience the event by live streaming it from the comfort of their own home.

Seven unique storytellers from across the globe will share stories from their culture, from as far as Antarctica and South America. The evening will be hosted and compered by award winning storyteller Chris Bostock who will perform live, telling stories from Europe.

There will be traditional North American stories live streamed from Laura Sims, music and tales from Asia, and a few nail-biters from Ingrid Nixon in Antarctica. There will also be music from South America and fantasy tales from Tanya Batt in Australasia; promising something for everyone to enjoy this World Storytelling Day.

Settle Stories works year round to bring high quality and international artists to their rural arts venue in Settle, Yorkshire Dales. Utilising their new digital equipment, this event will be the first of many in which they can link up with artists and communities globally.

When: 23rd March 2019, at 6pm
Where: The Joinery, Market Place, Settle, North Yorkshire BD24 9ED
£: Tickets from £5
