Hurrah, it’s Pancake Day again! If you are in the capital this Shrove Tuesday (5th March), you might be looking for somewhere to stuff yourself silly. Well, you’re in luck, as we’ve put together a sickly selection of places to go…
Bottomless pancakes and bubbles
Bluebird Cafe is offering the ultimate Pancake Day celebration, unlimited pancakes and bubbles. Get battered with stacks and stacks of pancakes and limitless toppings including marshmallows, chocolate sauce, maple syrup, candied pecan, berries and Nutella. To help wash all the buttery goodness down, Bluebird will be offering unlimited Prosecco to all those diners.
Similarly, The Little Blue Door is offering Bottomless Pancakes and Prosecco. On Saturday 9th March, guests will be able tuck to indulge into a special pancake platter, complete with stacks of pancakes and tiers of toppings including caramelised almonds, marshmallows, whipped cream and chocolate buttons, served on a silver platter and topped with chocolate ganache; more than enough to satisfy anyone’s sweet tooth. Guests who can finish the entire platter in under 15 minutes will win a complimentary bottle of Prosecco.
An Italian style Tiramisu Tier
Bunga Bunga Battersea will be swapping the pizza oven for a frying pan this Pancake Day, offering diners deliciozo pancake platters inspired by Pisa. They will be serving up Italiano style pancakes including savoury starters, a Tiramisu Tier and even a Maple Syrup Negroni special.
The Tiramisu Tier Stack comes with fluffy layers filled with mascarpone, whipped coffee cream, Nutella and fresh berries. Bunga Bunga’s Maple Syrup Negroni is made from Bombay Sapphire Gin, Martini Rubino, Martini Speciale Bitters, Dark Chocolate Mozart and maple syrup, garnished with an orange twist. Yum!
Pancakes on a Parisian inspired rooftop
For something a little bit different, head to the Moulin Rogue inspired Winter rooftop WigWam at the Queen of Hoxton. Warm yourself by the giant firepit and wash down your pancakes with a hot buttered rum or mulled port.
The Queen of Hoxton will also have a Make Your Own Pancake Station on the ground floor.
