Sea shanties and scallops in Rye

Rye Bay Scallop Week gets under way this weekend with sea shanties, live music, scallop tastings and demos.

Taking place across Rye in East Sussex, an area famed for the mighty mollusc, the annual celebration features special menus, a scallop school, tours, talks, demos, live music and quizzes.

The week kicks off on Friday 22nd February with A Serving of Scallops and Shanties at The Queen’s Head Inn, and with live music at The Ship Inn and the Cinque Ports Arms.

Other highlights during the week will include a talk and taste at the Market Fisheries, and a chance for visitors to cook and eat a seven course meal at Webbe’s Scallop School.

Where: Rye, East Sussex
