Skate with Penguins at Queens Skate Dine and Bowl London

Skate with Penguins

When: 19th January 2019 (penguins on show 4pm – 8pm)

Where: QUEENS Skate Dine Bowl, 17 Queensway, Bayswater, London W2 4QP

£: Rinkside viewing costs £5 (all profits to BirdLife International). Ice Skating and viewing costs from £11. Skate hire costs £2.50. Please note: QUEENS is adults only after 7pm

What is it?

QUEENS Skate Dine Bowl in London is offering the ultimate winter treat, as five Humboldt penguins waddle into the ice-rink on Saturday 19th January.  The special event is in honour of Penguin Awareness Day 2019.  So, forget Dancing on Ice and lace up the skates for this one-off treat.

The event will be raising money for BirdLife International, and guests will be able to meet these cute penguins and their expert handlers on QUEENS’ ice rink during the afternoon. Choose to skate alongside them and say hello with happy feet, or stroll around and see them in action rink-side.  The feathery friends will bring a new sense of life to West London, while offering a rare chance to learn and celebrate an adored species.

Donations are also welcome.

This seems like a hoax. Please do not promote the exploitation of animals under the pretence of awareness. Any common sense tells you this will be obviously alarming & distressing for The penguins. Very bizarre.

      Hi
Just to allay any fears, the penguins won’t be loose on the ice with the skaters. They will be with their handlers in a special penned off area on the ice, with a special surface for them to stand on.
