A Hair of the Dog Jog in Sheffield with beer and cake

By Caroline King - January 3, 2019Posted in : Alternative Sport, FEATURED-STORIES

runforit - Hair of the Dog Jog 2019 - Sheffield When: 12th January 2019

Where: Central Sheffield (near the Meadowhall shopping centre), South Yorkshire

£: Entry costs £15 – £18

What is it?

Why not get 2019 off to a good/bad start, by putting some of those new year resolutions to one side and joining the annual Sheffield Hair of the Dog Jog on Saturday 12th January?

You can pick your distance – 5km or 10km – and enter as a pair, solo or a team.  Well behaved dogs are, of course, welcome, and in the interests of fun, fancy dress is strongly encouraged.

There will be prizes for the most outrageous costumes (although please make sure your costume stops short of actually committing a criminal offence), as well as for the fastest times.  There will be bespoke medals and unique trophies for the first three finishers in each distance, as well as (and perhaps more importantly) finish-line fizz, beer and home-baked cakes for all the finishers.

This year there will also be a new prize for The Face of The Race, where you have the chance to win a free place at the 2019 RunForIt race of your choice.  All you have to do is post a selfie, taken during the race, to the race facebook page and a winner will be picked from every race.

The jog will take place over a fast, flat and scenic route, very close to the Meadowhall shopping centre.  Coffee 259 will be at the start line to provide tea, coffee and hot chocolate for runners and their families.  The route is completely family-friendly, pram-friendly and wheelchair-friendly.
