What is it?
The London Pantomime Horse Race will take place on Sunday 16th December in Greenwich, with a Film & TV theme.
The wacky event, now in its 9th year and described as the ‘daftest race event of its kind’, regularly attracts hundreds of spectators and special guest appearances.
The traditional Pre-Race Ceremony will take place from 11am at Devonport House, King William Walk, hosted by former CBeebies TV presenter and actress, Sarah-Jane Honeywell. This year’s event entertainment will include special guest appearances and performances from X-Factor star Honey G, and Katy Ellis, the UK’s leading Taylor Swift tribute act. Opening the show will be dance troupe performers from the Anna Fiorentini Theatre & Film School.
The race will see the poor nags take on a gruelling six-pub pit-stop course, around the streets of Greenwich; before the best five performing ‘horses’ are selected to take on the final challenge towards the finish line, via the use of Space-Hoppers.
An After-Race Show will take place once the winner has crossed the finish line. The party, hosted by US Comedian Lewis Shaffer, will feature performances from Honey G and the Taylor Swift tribute act, Kirsty Newton’s ‘Poptastic’ piano singalong show, and a fun Monty Python ‘Singalot’ tribute.
