Light Night Leeds 2018 will take place from Thursday 4th to Saturday 6th October, with more than 60 events taking place across the city.
This year’s Light Night will see Glo Men, BoomBikes, choir music, an illuminated parade and light juggling taking over the streets. Entertainment and installations will be spread across ten zones.
The Millennium Square Zone will feature projections, a soothing and immersive colour and sound experience, a collaborative laser game, an interactive installation made with recycled media and a spooky glow in the dark exhibition.
The Town Hall Zone will feature a bouquet of lampshades, light benches, a digital mirror, and an Art of Protest Illuminated Parade. There will also be late night opening at the Henry Moore Institute and Leeds Art Gallery. Meanwhile, the Headrow Zone will see events including Neon Trail Workshops, Yarn Bombing and an interactive walk-in infinity mirror.
Expect a children’s circus, a Fantastic Planet light installation, and a music and art collaboration at the Victoria Zone. Whilst the Briggate Zone will see aerial artists, a digital sound and light sculpture and a pop up neon exhibition.
The Station Zone events will include a light maze and a transforming light installation of a boy walking his dog; and the Arena Zone will include a fire laboratory and an interactive lighting installation.
Create silhouettes at The Tetley in the South Bank Zone and enjoy a silent disco at the SOYO Zone. Finally, at the University Zone there will be performances, light artists and a special fungi quest.
