Wellington host their tenth boot throwing championship

Where: Court Fields School, Mantle Street, Wellington, Somerset TA21 8SW

£: Free admission (there is a small fee to enter the championship)

What is it?

The tenth World Wellington Boot Throwing Championship will take place on Saturday 8th September, on the playing fields of Court Fields School in Wellington, Somerset.

Anyone can take part in the championship, with competitions for children and adults.  The winners are rewarded for their efforts, and the awards are usually handed out after the competition at 5pm.

The championship is part of a family fun day at the school and this year the event will also feature a Dog Show hosted by The Mount Vets.  There will also be mini sporting taster sessions, bouncy castles, ice creams, a children’s entertainer, free face painting, a bar, gin, hog roast, live music, the Wellington Silver Band, a charity raffle and a variety stalls.

The ‘Welly Boot’ aims to offer an affordable family day out and help put Wellington on the map.
