What is it?

The Enchanted Forest returns this autumn, from Thursday 4th October to Sunday 4th November, at Faskally Wood just outside Pitlochry in Scotland.

The 2018 event, entitled Of The Wild, is firmly rooted in nature and inspired by the hidden mystery of Faskally Wood after dark. This year’s event aims to combine visuals, innovative technologies, interactive special effects and an original music score to create an atmospheric outdoor installation.

Visitors can follow the winding trail, past mysterious Loch Dunmore and deeper into the woods, which will come alive after dark with sights, sounds and scents which promise to enchant the senses.

Visitors will be encouraged to turn their gaze skywards, through the swaying branches of majestic fir trees, to glimpse the moonlit stars and some hidden surprises.  The sounds of the woods will combine with a specially composed soundtrack to add to the experience.

There will be mulled wine and hot chocolate available, and a chance to toast your own marshmallows at one of the fire pits.

Now in its 17th year, The Enchanted Forest has won numerous awards, most recently being named finalist for Best Cultural Event at the Scottish Thistle Awards for the fourth year in a row. The event also took the coveted Best Cultural Event at the 2016 UK Events Awards in London last winter.
