What is it?

Step back in time to the 1800s with the Victorian Festival in Llandrindod Wells, from Monday 20th to Sunday 26th August.

This will be the town’s 37th Victorian Festival, featuring an eclectic programme of events during the day and evening, including parades, competitions, displays, talks, music, theatre and dance.

Quirky highlights of the festival will include a Historic Cycle Cavalcade, a Costumed Tea Dance, a Victorian Grand Ball, a Suffragette Demonstration, and free vintage bus rides around the lake.

This year’s daytime events will include a talent show on the bandstand, a vintage and classic vehicle display, a Historic Cycle Cavalcade hosted by National Cycle Museum, piano performances, a talk on Gilbert and Sullivan, a Costumed Tea Dance at the Hotel Commodore, a Peter Pan inspired afternoon, and The Land Girl Suffragettes demonstrating through the town.

There will also be a cafe at the Holy Trinity Church with performances and Victorian characters, and shop windows and staff will be dressed up for the occasion.

Evening events for 2018 will include a Hoi Polloi Harvest Ball, a performance of A Tale of Two Cities, a Grand Victorian Ball, a torchlight procession complete with marching band and a firework display.
