What is it?
The 11th annual Hebden Bridge Handmade Parade will be bringing celebration and spectacle to the streets on Sunday 24th June. This year’s event promises a travelling fair theme with ridiculous rides, surreal sideshows and weird circus.
Workshops are held in the weeks prior to the parade, when the community gets busy making weird and wonderful giant puppets. These creations are the main spectacle in the Handmade Parade. The parade will also feature around 1,000 participants, including a Samba band.
If you fancy watching this year’s parade, then make sure you head along to Hebden Bridge for 11.30am. The parade will be making its way from Victoria Road, down Valley Road, through St George’s Square and Bridge Gate, to finish in Calder Holmes Park.
At the park there will be a mini festival of live music, dance, street theatre, and a picnic in the park with the help of food stalls from local vendors, which will continue until around 4.30pm.
