What is it?
Ulverston’s Another Fine Fest is back for the fifth year, on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th June.
This year’s festival will have the usual eclectic mix of music, comedy, art and street theatre, but it will also feature not one but three World Record breaking attempts!
The event was created to celebrate the birth of Stan Laurel and to celebrate the town. For the day, the beer gardens, streets, windows, walls, cobbles, and even lamp posts become awash with weird and wonderful activity.
The highlight on the Saturday will be three quirky World Record attempts, celebrating the festival’s slapstick theme and helping to create a true party atmosphere. At 9.30am in Ford Park, the fun will begin with an attempt at the World’s Largest Game of Musical Statues. This will be followed by an attempt at the Largest Gathering of People Wearing Conical Party Hats, and the Biggest Crowd Wearing Odd Socks.
In 2016, Another Fine Fest carried out a World Record breaking mass foam pie fight in the park. Have a watch of our video below to get a flavour of what to expect this year…
This year’s festival will feature two outdoor stages and venues around the town with music, DJs, comedy and cabaret performances over the two days. There will also be live graffiti and window art being created, circus, magic shows, a spoken word workshop, a pebble painting workshop, yarn bombing, and wandering street theatre.
