Rafts at Portrush

When: 26th & 27th May 2018

Where: Portrush, County Antrim, Northern Ireland

£: Free (donations most welcome, there will be bucket collections over the weekend)

What is it?

The Portrush Raft Race Weekend will take place on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th May, with a whole host of races, challenges and dips, raising money for the RNLI.

The highlight of the weekend will no doubt be the raft races on the Saturday afternoon, when brave teams will be hoping to stay afloat in their homemade craft and win a prize.  There will also be raft races, taking place in heats, for juniors (6 to 15 years).  The main raft race will take place at 3.30pm and promises more than 50 rafts competing this year, in all shapes and sizes.

As well as the raft races there will be plenty of other on water and dry land family entertainment, including a Rookie Lifeguard Challenge for kids, zumba, wellie wanging, Babushka’s Big Dip, the Paddleboard Challenge and the Raft Race Swim.

There will also be live music, a drumming workshop, face painting, lifeboat rescue displays, a tug of war, an arts and crafts fair, VW campervans, a vintage vehicle display, beach volleyball and yoga taster sessions.
