What is it?
Get ready for three days of live entertainment this bank holiday weekend as the Crewe Steampunk Convivial pops up in the town centre.
The events will be based around the Municipal Square and Christchurch ruins, with a Steampunk Market in the new Lifestyle Centre and evening events taking place at The Mals Club. The ticketed evening events will take place on the Saturday and Sunday, with a Steampunk Cabaret and a Steampunk Concert.
The 2018 convivial line up will include Ichabod Steam and his Animatronic Backing Band (in a submarine), Greg Chapman (master of ceremonies), cabaret artist Lux Delioux, falconry displays team Talonted Feathers, Captain Leaky‘s steampunk contraptions, steampunk comedian The Ineffable Lady M, and burlesque and cabaret act Seedy Frills.
There will also be music from BB BlackDog, Rhythm ‘n’ Roots Reggae Band, The Retro Clones, Warren Latham from the Temperance Seven, Rivers and Kidd, Montague Jaques Fromage III, The Wattingers, and The Filthy Spectacula.
If you can’t make it to Crewe this bank holiday, there will be similar events taking place in Lougborough (June) and Hartlepool (September). There will also be The Felixstowe Steampunk Halloween Festival taking place at the end of October.
