What is it?

This summer, Velo Vintage will be hosting their 14th Occasion & Ride in the coastal resort of Seaton on the Jurassic Coast.  The event is a chance to dress up in vintage style and take a leisurely, sociable ride through the local area.

The Grand Depart from Seaton will take place at 10.30am on Saturday 30th June, with a mid-morning stop at a local hostelry, before a spot of tea and cake at Seaton Wetlands at lunchtime.  The ride will continue in the afternoon to Windsor Gardens and finishing at Cliff Field Gardens at around 2.30pm.  Here there will be a picnic, games, and festivities of the fair in the park.  There will also be music from vintage trio, the Liberty Sisters.

The dress code for the ride will be vintage attire (1920s to 1950s), such as retro cycling gear, tweed, military uniforms and floral dresses.  The ride itself will be no more than nine miles long and will be at a very relaxed pace, so you won’t need to be Bradley Wiggins to take part.

Following the ride, on the Sunday, there will be a vintage tram ride Colyton.  This sociable tram ride will allow guests the chance to enjoy drinks, and perhaps a Sunday roast, before returning to Seaton to watch a spot of cycling at the Seaton Cycle Fest.  Again, vintage or traditional attire is a must!
