When: 7th April 2018
Where: An international event, with a UK event taking place in London
What is it?
This year’s annual International Pillow Fight Day will take place on Saturday 7th April, with events taking place in cities across the globe. London will be hosting an event again this year, from 1pm to 4pm in Allen Gardens (E1).
International Pillow Fight Day began in 2008 with the aim of turning our cities’ public spaces into urban playgrounds, encouraging people to use and meet up in our spaces.
For those who fancy popping along to the London event, all you need is a feather-free pillow and a friendly personality. If you’re looking for the opportunity to dress up in a silly costume, now’s your chance! There are a few polite rules to the fight, including not swinging your pillow too hard, waiting for the signal before starting, and bringing a bag to help clean up the mess afterwards.
The London event was started in 2013 by Focallocal, who will also be hosting more quirky events this year including a Free Hugs Procession, London Guerrilla Urban Beautification Day, Costume Day, and The World’s Biggest Eye Contact Gathering.
Other cities taking part in this year’s International Pillow Fight Day include Barcelona (Spain), Vienna (Austria), Rotterdam (Netherlands), Sochi (Russia), and Seattle (USA).
