What is it?
The 19th annual Pie & Ale Festival will be taking place from Thursday 3rd to Monday 7th May at the Smugglers’ Den Inn, situated in the heart of the Cornish countryside.
The festival usually features more than 80 ales and ciders for guests to try, along with homemade pies (very important for soaking up all that beer). As well as the food and drink, the long weekend also features a whole host of live music.
This year’s festival will kick off on the Thursday evening with the Boundless Brothers, followed by Daisy Clark and the Mighty Offbeats on the Friday. At the weekend the music will begin at around lunchtime and continue into the evening with Mad Jack & the Boneyard, EchoTown, Noble Jacks, The Grenaways and the Backbeat Sound System. The festival will finish on the Monday with Ben Thorpe, Harbottle & Jonas, and Me & the Devil providing the music.
There will be beers from local and national breweries such as St Austell Brewery, Hunter’s Brewery, Cornish Crown, and Black Flag Brewery.
The Smugglers’ Den Inn is an idyllic thatched 16th century coaching inn, nestled in the heart of the north Cornish countryside.
