What is it?
Whitby Steampunk Weekend III will take place on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th February in the North Yorkshire town, with activities, presentations, demonstrations and the Famous Steampunk Emporium.
There will be free admission to Whitby Pavilion Exhibition Halls over the weekend, for the Famous Steampunk Emporium, which will have more than 70 stalls as well as entertainment and music.
There will be plenty of quirky and eclectic demonstrations throughout the weekend, including the gentleman’s martial art, Bartitsu, and in spiritualism. There will also be mesmerism, antagonistics, magic, escapology and other Victorian tricks of wonderment.
Saturday’s Music and Mayhem Evening at Whitby Pavilion Theatre will feature Professor Elemental, Montague Jacques Fromage, Biscuithead and The Biscuit Badgers (t.b.c.) and host Miss Natalia Kalashnikov.
A Time Travelling Tea Tent, a game of Rutting Rodents, Steampunk Steamstress Workshops, Whitby Ghosts and Legends, music from Atticus Oldman and The Absinthe Affair, free classic cinema in a classic cinema, and a VW Steamvagon, will also feature during the weekend. Everyone is welcome to the event, including friendly dogs.
