What is it?
For those who know their Mughal-e-Azam from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, the Mango Tree, an authentic Thai restaurant in London’s Belgravia, will be transformed into a Bollywood film on Sunday 14th January.
Mango Tree will be stepping into the vibrant world of Indian national cinema for a Bollywood Extravaganza. The celebrations will begin at 6pm with a three course menu, inspired by both Indian and Thai cuisine and culture.
The space will be dressed in Indian inspired décor, creating the perfect antidote to the January blues. Famous Bollywood films will be shown throughout the evening, alongside performances from Bollywood dancers and a DJ playing into the night. A live Roti canai (Indian-influenced flatbread) demonstration will be taking place throughout the evening.
Upon arrival, guests will be greeted with a Mango Lassi and guided through to their table where the three course menu awaits. Diners will be presented with dishes in a sharing style, including deep-fried king prawns with mango raita and corn-fed chicken tikka skewers.
Expect delights such as chili paneer curry served in a pineapple boat, southern style lamb shank curry and yellow Thai style chicken curry. Before ending the evening on a sweet note, with a saffron pannacota and pistachio biscuit. And each partygoer will even get a goody bag to take home with them.
Mango Tree is an award-winning restaurant located a short walk from Buckingham Palace in the heart of Belgravia, serving contemporary and authentic Thai cuisine.
