What is it?
This winter, Brixton Rooftop’s South Pole Saloon will be hosting a weekend for fromage fans. From 30th November to Saturday 2nd December, Cheese Town will fill the rooftop with dairy delights.
Visitors to Cheese Town can expect to find some of the UK’s most popular cheese mongers, makers and street food vendors. The festive themed rooftop, in the heart of Brixton, will have an array of street food traders cooking up a cheese feast in the cosy, winter saloon pop up.
Mac to the Future will be launching their new Camembert Mac, a mac ‘n’ cheese dish served within an entire baked Camembert; lamb specialists, The Lambassadors, will be serving up a specially created lamb cheese burger, alongside Fancy Funkin Chicken’s Cheesy Topped Chicken Wings; and Alpine artisans The Raclette Brothers will be bringing with them the finest French-Canadian treats.
Throughout the weekend, Cheese Town will host cheese stretch classes by Mac to the Future, as well as talks and demonstrations, with plenty of tasters to go around (of course).
For all cheesy romantics out there, sharing cheese boards will be available for those that fancy a little nibble. Once filled to the brim with burrata, guests can browse the dedicated cheese shop from Wildes Cheese, complete with a wide selection of British artisan cheeses to take home.
Those looking to extend their cheese weekend should stay and party at the festive spirit filled bars, serving perfect wine pairings, crafted cocktails and draft beers; all whilst listening to the sounds of cheesy floor fillers on an extended 2am license.
