What is it?
Forget pumpkin carving for Halloween, on the Isle of Man they do things a little differently. Hop Tu Naa celebrates the beginning of the Celtic new year and the start of winter; and if you head to Cregneash on Sunday 29th October you can carve yourself a turnip lantern to celebrate this traditional festival.
In addition, there will be traditional dancing, stories and folk customs, and a storytelling session exploring old superstitions.
Visitors can carve a turnip lantern or make a herbal charm. End the day with a grand turnip lantern parade, led by musicians, through the village.
