What is it?

The 67th British National Ploughing Championships will take place in Somerset on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th October, with more than 250 top ploughmen – and women – from all over Britain expected to compete.

The event kicks off on the Saturday with a parade of competitors at 9am, followed by horse and vintage tractor ploughing.  On the Sunday there will be a parade of ‘plough off’ competitors, who will compete in the finals.

Over the weekend, visitors to the Ploughing Championships can see steam ploughing engines at work, agricultural machinery demonstrations, and vintage and rural craft displays with the themes ‘Welcome to Somerset’ and ‘From Horse to Horse Power’.

There will also be trade stands, stalls, and country crafts, tractor and trailer rides, heavy horses, hot food, and a bar.
