When: 14th – 16th August 2017
Where: Pier Approach, Bournemouth, Dorset
What is it?
From Monday 14th to Wednesday 16th August, a giant superhero themed artwork will be popping up in Bournemouth.
Ambassadeur Art Gallery on Westover Road has teamed up with Bournemouth Tourism to create Bournemouth’s biggest ever public street art project. The artwork will be created on Pier Approach, in the spidery-shape of one of our favourite superheroes.
The project will begin on Monday 14th August with Ambassadeur Art’s resident artists, Iain Alexander and Dairo Vargas working with local street artist, Miroslav Lucan, chalking out the design in the morning. Students from Arts University Bournemouth will be joining the artists in the afternoon, and all day on Tuesday 15th, to help with the painting.
This new piece of street art for Bournemouth’s busiest tourist spot has been designed with families in mind and will depict a giant superhero holding an ice cream. The superhero is due to be finished by the Wednesday morning at 11am. It will be unveiled to the public with entertainment and free ice creams for anyone that comes down to Pier Approach dressed as a superhero.
