Pimped up prams at Ally Pally for the second Great British Pram Race

Great British Pram Race - Alexandra Palace London

Are you ready for the Great British Pram Race?

When: 22nd July 2017, races begin at 1.30pm

Where: Alexandra Palace, London N22

£: Race entry costs £5

What is it?

Prams. We spend a large part of our early lives in them and then splashes of our later lives pushing them.  In between, these titans of the pavement lie gathering dust in our garages and sheds, unloved and often forgotten.

Now it’s time to bring them out and revive a Great British tradition, that of bombing about with a pram in a race to the death (well not death, but certainly something quite serious).

On Saturday 22nd July, the Great British Pram Race will return to the iconic Alexandra Palace.

The pram race is a 3.56km run around the south slopes of Alexandra Palace, which any adults (aged 13 years and over) may take part in. Teams can be made up of one to six people and participants should remember that the event is a fun race and shouldn’t be taken too seriously. Prizes are usually awarded, not only to the winning teams, but for the best pimped out buggy and fancy dress, so get creative.

Behind the race are Club de Fromage and Uncool Events, well-known for their somewhat off-beat events, including Feeling Gloomy and Coffin Dodgers Disco.

All profits from the event will be going to MNDA.  So don’t be too posh to push, and get ready for the Great British Pram Race.
