What is it?

The annual Ilfracombe Victorian Celebration will take place in the north Devon coastal town from Saturday 10th to Sunday 18th June.

The Victorians were responsible for developing Ilfracombe into a magnificent seaside resort, making it the perfect place to hold a celebration of all things Victorian.

Visitors to the Ilfracombe Victorian Celebration can expect to see members of the town dressed up in costume, as well as watch parades, concerts and shows.  The week-long event begins on Saturday 10th with a Grand Parade, Mayor’s Garden Party, pop up concert and a Victorian music evening.  The events will continue on the Sunday with a leisurely stroll along the prom and a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.

Ilfracombe Victorian Celebration During the week there will be a Suffragettes Rally, Bathing Belles and Beaus, best dressed hat and parasol, and best dressed gentleman competitions, a Pearlies evening and a magic lantern show.

On the final weekend there will be tea duelling, a ukulele workshop, a Victorian ghost walk, and live music from a Steampunk band. There will also be a display of classic vehicles, a best dressed Steampunk competition and a firework finale.
