What is it?
The 13th Velo Vintage Occasion & Ride will take place on Saturday 1st July in Seaton, Devon. The Velo Vintage is a chance for people to get together for a leisurely cycle ride, dressed in their finest, with stops for refreshments along the way.
The July event will begin with vintage vocal trio, The Liberty Sisters, greeting riders as they enjoy their welcoming morning tea or coffee. This will be followed by a pleasant meandering cycle ride to a local hostelry for a light buffet snack.
Velo Vintage riders can then enjoy a stop for tea and cake, kindly hosted by Seaton Wetlands, on the return ride. The ride will conclude with a visit to a Vintage Fayre in a park, where there will be live music and a picnic on the grass.
The Vintage Fayre will have stalls selling gifts, crafts, pottery, cakes, desserts, savories, soup and hot spiced apple drinks. There will also be a supply of Ventons Cyder for all of the riders, and the chance to play a spot of croquet or pétanque.
If you are thinking of joining the ride, then make sure you arrive in style and dress up in vintage attire. Tweed jackets and retro cycling gear are popular choices.
The event will be raising money for Headway Devon, and £2 from every ticket will go to the local charity.
