What is it?
Jane Austen Regency Week is an annual 9-day festival, held in Alton and Chawton, Hampshire. This year’s event will take place from Saturday 17th to Sunday 25th June, with music, talks, workshops, dancing and tours.
This will be the 10th annual Jane Austen Regency Week, and this year’s event will kick off with Alton Regency Day, a Regency Dancing Workshop, and Alton Regency Ball on the Saturday. Alton Regency Day is a free event with entertainment including music, folk dancing, stalls, Regency characters and re-enactments. There will also be ‘Dandy Chargers’ and carriage rides.
The Regency Week will continue with events including embroidery workshops, a tour of Wyards farm and cream tea, a Victorian charity cricket match, a talk on ‘A Partial, Prejudiced and Ignorant Historian’, and a Regency supper.
