The event sees a range of competitors in an array of cars, from family saloon cars to single-seater racing cars, trying to race up the 675m hill course.

The event on Saturday 10th June will see competitors in a mix of classic, road and racing cars trying to qualify for several of the top local and regional championships.

Barbon Hillclimb 2016 - Cumbria The following event on Saturday 1st July will see cars and drivers competing for the British Hillclimb Championship.

Unlike other races, spectators are able to view the races along the whole course and have access to the paddock area, where they can see the cars up close and meet the drivers.

The gates will open to the public at 8am, with the practice sessions beginning at around 9.30am. The cars will begin their official runs up the hill just before lunchtime, with drivers speeding off at 30 second intervals.  The event usually finishes at around 5pm.

Hot food and drinks will be available on site.  Anyone planning to visit the event should remember to dress for the weather and walking on hilly ground.
