What is it?
On Sunday 14th May, the quirky LostFest will take place in Cornwall, with an eclectic mix of music, dance, demonstrations and activities.
Entertainment will kick off at around 10.30am and carry on into the evening. Music and dance performances throughout the day will include everything from samba to morris dancing, barbershop quartets to pop. Evening music will include The Gumbo Flyers, who will bring the sounds of rural Louisiana to Cornwall with a mix of accordion, rubboard and pulsating rhythms.
This year’s festival will feature plenty of stalls, full of arts, crafts, gifts and food, including chilli preserves and hot sauces, upcycled clothing, Cornish ice cream, handmade pottery, and knitwear.
For visitors who like their history, LostFest will also have medieval battle re-enactments courtesy of Kernow Levy, who will be setting up camp in St Bartholomew’s churchyard. The Renaissance Historical Dance Society will also be performing 15th, 16th, 17th and 19th century court and country dances. Furthermore, visitors can also explore the town’s museum and delve into Lostwithiel’s past.
For the children there will be plenty to do, including face painting, balloon sculpture, a craft tent and a forest school.
